E&Y is World's "Most Admired" for Knowledge Management

It's not the first time, but the ninth consecutive in a row, that Ernst & Young has been recognized as the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) of the world. In the 2006 MAKE awards, Ernst & Young bagged the first prize in the "Creating an Environment for Collaborative Knowledge-Sharing" and "Developing Knowledge Workers Through Senior Management Leadership" categories.

The MAKE survey was carried out by Teleos in union with the KNOW network. The panel of experts comprised senior executives at Fortune Global 500 companies, foremost knowledge management practitioners and chief knowledge officers. The annual MAKE study, started in 1998, is the leading benchmark for the worlds best knowledge based organizations. Due recognition is paid annually to organizations that position above the crowd in the knowledge economy. The other winners of the top MAKE awards include Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, General Electrics, Siemens and McKinsey & Company.

Ernst & Young is one of the few organizations that achieved recognition each year since 1998. It got introduced into the MAKE Hall of Fame in 2000. John Harley, Ernst & Young's Global Vice Chair, Global Accounts, Industries, and Business Development, commented - "I am delighted that we have been recognized, for the ninth year in a row, as one of the global organizations most focused on knowledge," He feels that knowledge is the key to EY business. "We focus on the quality, depth and global reach of our knowledge resources, so that we can give key insights and Ernst & Young points of view on matters of critical importance to our clients, wherever they operate around the world."

Ratings of organizations are carried out by the MAKE panel against a framework of key knowledge performance dimensions that are the movers of intellectual capital growth and competitive advantage. Rory Chase, managing director of Teleos feels that "The Global MAKE winners are effectively transforming enterprise knowledge into wealth-creating ideas, products and solutions. They are building portfolios of intellectual capital and intangible assets which will enable them to out-perform their competitors in the future."

Ernst & Young continuously strives to influence the intellectual capital of its professional in order to maintain its industry foremost position as a pioneering driver of the knowledge economy. The Big Four firms indeed constitute top award winning professionals and organizations, aiming to take the commercial world a step ahead.
